Is alcohol paleo? That is the question…
Ehh not really, alcohol happens to be a processed food and a toxin for your body. But when it’s bachelorette weekend for one of your amazing girlfriends… that care goes out the window.
But a fun weekend with your girls filled with pizza, booze, and shenanigans can leave you feeling bloated and defeated once it’s over.
However, health and wellness shouldn’t take over your life, they should compliment it!
Over the years, I figured out a secret way to fight the bloated feeling during and after a night of drinking and wanted to share it with you… Cause hey, everybody deserves a drink and a late night slice of pizza from time to time…
Like I said, the feeling of being bloated is totally miserable – and no one should have to deal with it. I read on a blog once that activated charcoal can not only alleviate bloating but also prevent hangover and had to try it. I was definitely doubtful and scared it would turn my insides black, but come to find out it totally works! (And no it doesn’t turn your insides black )
But how you ask? The charcoal works by binding the gas found in foods that cause you the discomfort and then releasing them safely. Take your charcoal one hour before a big meal with a full glass of water. Unfortunately, the charcoal doesn’t absorb alcohol but it does absorb the other toxins that contribute to hangovers and/or poisoning. When activated charcoal is taken at the same time as alcohol, some studies show it can significantly reduce blood alcohol concentrations. (Still doesn’t mean you should drink and drive though).
